Message to our partners, the people of Africa, and all peacebuilders
“Peace is not the absence of conflict, but the presence of justice.”
As the first rays of 2026 illuminate our shared horizon, our organization wishes to extend its warmest greetings and reaffirm its unwavering commitment to human rights, justice, and building lasting peace.
The year 2025 will be remembered as a pivotal year, a time when fundamental human rights principles were severely tested. Faced with persistent conflicts, migration crises, and geopolitical tensions, international solidarity proved more essential than ever.
We particularly remember the citizen movements around the world, which powerfully reminded us that social justice is the key to stable societies.
We recall the significant legal advances in protecting the rights of vulnerable populations, as well as the peace agreements that emerged despite divisions, proving that dialogue remains the most powerful tool for overcoming violence.
We also acknowledge the increased recognition of the indissoluble link between environmental peace and human peace.
Our Actions and Our Struggles
The year 2025 was marked by unprecedented mobilization. Thanks to your unwavering support, we were able to:
• Provide support and protection to human rights defenders.
• Monitor and document the delivery and effectiveness of humanitarian assistance to the most vulnerable populations.
• Document and report serious human rights violations.
• Actively contribute to justice and reconciliation processes in post-conflict settings, including by supporting community dialogue and truth and accountability mechanisms.
These results are the invaluable fruit of our partnership. Your commitment has been the catalyst for every advance; the cornerstone of every victory won for human dignity.
2026: The Year of Renewed Action
The dawn of 2026 calls us not only to continue, but to intensify and reinvent our efforts. Drawing on the lessons of the past year, our priorities will be structured around four strategic pillars:
1. Restorative Justice & Remembrance: Developing innovative models that place victims and communities at the heart of the healing process, in order to transform the wounds of the past into the foundations of a shared future.
2. Intergenerational Peace: Actively engaging young people, the peacemakers of tomorrow, by making their voices, creativity, and leadership essential drivers of social cohesion and resilience.
3. Interconnected Rights: Deepening our comprehensive approach by upholding the indissoluble link between civil, social, economic, and environmental rights—an essential condition for genuine and lasting justice.
4. Ethical Technology: Ensure that the development of digital innovation in the most disadvantaged regions, particularly on the African continent, is guided by the principles of fairness, transparency and respect for human dignity, and does not lead to exclusion or arbitrary surveillance practices.
Our Solemn Commitment
In this new year, we reaffirm our promise: to stand with the voiceless, to denounce injustice without compromise, and to patiently build bridges to true peace. We firmly believe that another world is possible—a world where dignity is not a privilege, but a universal right.
Acknowledgments and Outlook
Dear partners, your trust is our most valuable asset. The challenges of 2025 have shown us that together, in the diversity of our approaches but the unity of our principles, we are moving forward.
May 2026 be the year in which our collective efforts bear even more visible fruit. In which every action for justice resonates. In which every gesture for peace inspires thousands of others.
Let us rise together to the challenge of building a future where human rights are no longer an aspiration, but a lived reality for all.
With our deepest gratitude and shared determination.
