More than 400,000 people are facing famine, and an additional 1.8 million people are on the brink of famine, according to the UN.<\/p>\n<p>Some suggest the numbers are even higher, 33,000 children are severely malnourished, &#8220;UN Acting Under-Secretary-General for Humanitarian Affairs and Emergency Relief Coordinator, Mr. Ramesh Rajasingham has warned.<\/p>\n<p>According to the UN and the World Food Program (WFP), 5.2 million people, or 91% of the population of Tigray, are in need of emergency food assistance.<\/p>\n<p>The UN urges the rebels to implement Ethiopia&#8217;s ceasefire.
