For the UN, these crises have an impact on food supply, health, education and security in all countries of the world. This new United Nations report reveals that the convergence of intensified fighting, the continuing COVID-19 pandemic and the long-term climate crisis could push an additional 75 to 95 million people into extreme poverty this year.<\/p>\n<p>The pandemic has undermined countries&#8217; efforts to meet the ambitious global goals, reversing more than four years of progress in poverty reduction, also disrupting essential health services and derailing hard-won progress on SDG 3 on the health and well-being.
