Some had blankets, others slept on the floor.<\/em><\/h6>\n<p>A powerful earthquake measuring 7 on the Richter scale occurred during the night from Friday to Saturday in Morocco; according to the National Center for Scientific and Technical Research (CNRST) based in Rabat, its epicenter was located in the province of Al-Haouz, southwest of the tourist city of Marrakech.<\/p>\n<p>The earthquake caused enormous damage and at least 632 people died. Hundreds of people flocked to Jemaa el-Fnaa to spend the night, for fear of aftershocks.
