Belarus: Hundreds of demonstrators arrested
Several hundred people were arrested on Saturday (March 25th) in the capital of
Belarus while they tried to participate in a demonstration in Minsk to denounce the decline in living standards and a tax on the unemployed.
The demonstration follows several others organized since February and which pose a challenge for President Alexander Lukashenko, who has led the former Soviet republic for 23 years.
