According to the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR), as of the end of June 2024, 122.6 million people had been forcibly displaced worldwide. Among them, 43.7 million are refugees, fleeing persecution, conflict, and human rights violations. This figure includes 5.94 million Palestinian refugees under the mandate of UNRWA.”
