Lebanon: Shia women’s choir singing Christmas in a church

Lebanon remains a haven of tolerance between religions and an example of coexistence.

Not because of any ideology, but because the Lebanese have always lived together, and when they have tried to separate or dominate each other, they have lost, all without exception.

In Lebanon, despite the many wars and foreign occupations, coexistence has accommodated itself to a relative democracy and freedom that does not exist in any other Arab country. Choir of Shia women singing Christmas at the Church of Saint Elias in Beirut is the perfect illustration.

A world of peace cultivating otherness; such is our dream of merry festivals.
