Call for participation-The role of social networks activists in promoting human rights and development of Africa Successful Experiences and New Ideas

call poster

One of the major factors that lead to the promotion of human rights and development in all societies has always been raising the level of knowledge, awareness, education and a healthy flow of information in those communities.

One of the most important tools that assist the above objective whose impact is undeniable, especially in recent years, are the social networks. This is particularly true in Africa than in other regions. In recent years, citizens of African countries – especially the countries of North Africa – have demonstrated tireless efforts in order to achieve favorable conditions in the field of human rights, democracy and development.

Such efforts obviously take place in the realm of cyberspace, especially on social networks than any other areas. However, most African countries are still far from satisfactory standards in the field of human rights, justice and democracy. This is despite the fact that these countries have significant potential and capacity to achieve development and progress.

According to the above mentioned, Human Rights Agency with the aim of promoting human rights and development in Africa, plans to begin a project centered on the use of cyberspace; in this regard, the current recall have been issued in order to study and analyze the successful experiences and best ideas in cyberspace to promote human rights and development.

Therefore, all social media activists, students, professors, media activists and etc. who have experience or ideas in this regard are invited to submit their experiences and ideas in the form of articles, photos, posters, short films, and other works of art to the secretariat of the call at [email protected] .
Also, social activists who run pages in this area are invited to submit their pages with an attached file containing a description to the Secretariat.

It should be noted that producers of top works will have a chance to be recruited in the Human Rights Agency as our partners in the project and other similar projects and participate in the Human Rights Council meeting in Switzerland (Geneva) upon the agency inviting to present their works.

Deadline for entries: 31st July.
