Un aperçu de l’évolution des droits de l’homme en Afrique en 2022
L’Afrique a toujours été le théâtre de diverses catastrophes humaines et matérielles résultant des conflits armés et de la mauvaise gouvernance, exacerbées par la pauvreté croissante dont déjà une grande majorité des Africains notamment en milieu rural, sont victimes. A cet égard, de nombreuses organisations tente toujours de résoudre les problèmes et de soutenir cette population. Malgré tous les défis, les ONG seules ou en collaboration avec d’autres organisations ont pu réussir, même s’il reste encore un long chemin à parcourir pour la pleine réalisation des droits de l’homme.
L’année 2022 s’est terminée avec de nombreux événements significatifs et de grands faits saillants politiques en Afrique. L’adoption d’une loi contre la traite des personnes et l’abolition de la peine de mort comptent parmi les avancées récentes en matière de droits de l’homme. L’ONU a également mentionné les enquêtes et le début des procès pour crimes de guerre et crimes contre l’humanité par le Tribunal Pénal Spécial pour la République centrafricaine, et la création récente de la Commission Vérité, Justice, Réparation et Réconciliation comme des événements positifs en cours courant 2022.
Comme autre réalisation, la Commission africaine des Droits de l’Homme et Des peuples a fait état de progrès dans la réduction de la torture dans les lieux de privation de liberté et dans l’accélération du processus d’adoption de textes sur la protection des droits des réfugiés, des droits des travailleurs migrants, des droits de l’enfant et des droits de la femme. Il a également fait des progrès dans la promotion des droits civils, politiques, économiques, sociaux et culturels sur tout le continent africain (Union africaine, 2022)…
