La demande de rançon impose souvent aux proches des victimes ou au gouvernement lui-même de verser des sommes considérables, avec parfois des conséquences tragiques en cas de non-paiement. Les victimes libérées ont rapporté des conditions de détention difficiles, souvent dans des conditions de vie précaires, subissant des menaces de mort et étant contraintes de parcourir de longues distances dans des environnements hostiles.
Il est crucial que des mesures soient prises pour mettre fin à ces actes criminels et garantir la sécurité des citoyens, en particulier des enfants, qui représentent l’avenir du Nigeria.
